Steve Brewer is the creator of the comic Bubba Mabry private eye series and the Drew Gavin series.

Steve grew up in Arkansas, but has called New Mexico home for about 15 years. He spent 22 years in the newspaper business before turning to fiction full-time in 1997. A weekly humor column he writes for the Albuquerque Tribune is distributed nationally by Scripps Howard News Service.

Steve is a member of Mystery Writers of America, and sometimes teaches detective fiction in the honors program at the University of New Mexico.

He lives in Albuquerque with his wife, two sons and a dog named Elvis.
