Retired mentalist and entertainer Grant Montgomery, only in his mid-forties, receives an unexpected phone call from an old flame that brings more than one kind of bad news. Her father, who was Grant's early mentor as a mentalist, has a terminal brain tumor and is obsessed with taking his own life. The old flame seems to be trying to ignite some sparks with Grant. Her identical twin has plans and schemes of her own. And a sadistic criminal, just released from prison, is determined to settle an old score with Grant. Forbidden romance, bloodshed, poison and a body that shouldn't stay buried confront Grant as he races against time to unlock a dark secret, only to face a deadly double threat.
