WORDS OF THE WITCHES |

Words of the Witches is an anthology of eleven stories, written by some of today's well-known and beloved authors. These stories grab the reader, drawing the reader drawing them into the fascinating worlds of modern-day Witches. Ms. Jocks, who also writes as Evelyn Vaughn and has a four book series involving Wicca currently being re-printed under Silhoutte's Dreamscape line, has chosen such excellent stories for Words of the Witches. Among the authors whose works are included in this compilation are: Maggie Shayne, Evelyn Vaughn, Rosemary Edghill, Lorna Tedder, and others. This book opens with a story by Maggie Shayne that is so gripping and was inspired by factual events in recent news headlines. Concluding this anthology is a new "Bast" mystery by Rosemary Edghill. As one who greatly enjoyed previous Bast mysteries by Ms. Edghill, this story did not disappoint. Bast has a knack for being in the proverbial "wrong place at the wrong time" and this short story presents her once again with that situation. These stories are full of accurate information regarding Wiccan practice, not the fictionalized stuff seen in popular horror or television, but of regular people whose day to day lives are made better by practicing a faith that enriches their lives. After each short story there is a spell or poem, giving the reader a sampling of each author's thoughts on the practice of the Craft. Words of the Witches is a great anthology and I highly recommend it! |
