Lieutenant Jacqueline "Jack" Daniels is with the Chicago Police Department's Homicide Division. The book opens with Jack investigating a rather grisly murder scene. It soon becomes evident that the killer has not only killed before, but develops an obsession with Jack. We are given gradual glimpses into what Jack's life is like away from her work, and bit by bit learn more about what makes her tick. WHISKEY SOUR isn't all horrific crimes, there is much humor interjected throughout the story and I found myself laughing out loud many times. I sincerely hope the next installment in this series lets us see more of the FBI agents, to say more would only spoil some really hilarious moments. The second book in this series can't come soon enough!
