What in God's name has happened to Lorena Alger? That's what everyone in Ash Lake, Florida wants to know when the body of the young girl who is about to be canonized disappears from the grave where she as rested for 150 years. Lorena's great grand niece, Veronica "Ronnie" Lord, teams up with Sheriff Lew Caperton to not only get the soon-to-be saint's body back, but also to find out how the cemetery's freshly dead caretaker ended up where Lorena's casket used to rest.

Frankly, I loved this book! It has everything a reader could want from a fast-paced, often hilarious mystery. Ronnie and Lew wade through bumbling petty thieves, a hellfire and brimstone preacher, an annoying reporter and even Ted Nugent in their quest to find Lorena and to solve the caretaker's murder. Once I picked this book up I didn't put it down again until the last page was savored!

SAINTS PRESERVE US is the first in a planned 5-book series and I'm looking forward to seeing what Kathryn Lively has in store for us in the future!
