Cassandra Shipton is divorced with three grown children, she also owns her own business, Earthlore Herbal Preparations and Cruelty-Free Cosmetics. She also has psychic visions, and is a practicing Wiccan. Cassandra, known to her friends as "Cass", gets together with the other four ladies to practice their Wiccan faith. Cass soon has a vision of someone committing a crime while meeting the eyes of a stranger in the supermarket. That's when the action really begins, the Circle soon tries to find ways to catch the killer while not compromising their belief in The Law of Three. To non-Wiccans, that means that whatever is sent out will return three-fold to the sender. We also get to see Cass move on with her life romantically, and see her love and care for others via the relationship she forms with a young boy she befriends. Cass and all her friends are written so well that I'd love to know these wonderful women in real life. I especially enjoyed how the characters' Wiccan beliefs and practices were woven into the rest of their lives and throughout the story. I'm hoping the author will give us a book delving more into the Circlemates' becoming acquainted with one another and their roads to deciding Wicca was their belief.
