Old crimes come back to haunt a small California town. Full Circle introduces reporter Penny Mackenzie and a supporting cast of colorful characters whose lives turn upside down when chance discovery of a skeleton in a cotton field leads to murder--and romance.
The little town of Pearl hasn't changed much in the hundred years since Simeon Swann built it with gold he dug out of the Klondike. But was Simeon a thief and a rascal? Is one of his descendants a murderer? Reporter Penny Mackenzie gets more than she bargains for as she ferrets out the identify of a skeleton found in a cotton field, and tries to catch a killer. Complicating her efforts are the police chief, who's courting her mother, and her first love, who shows up unannounced after a very long absence. Shaken out of her comfort zone at every turn, Penny is forced to weigh human relationships against human compromises, and reexamine her belief that honesty is always the best policy. Full Circle is multi-generational -- the baby-boom generation as typified by Penny and her peers, the senior citizenry represented by their parents, and those spectral, turn-of-the-century antecedents who cast such long shadows.
