SEATTLE AUTHOR MAKES NORTHWEST CONNECTION IN LATEST MILITARY OFFERING

Critically acclaimed author Norman Harris has chosen the Northwest with its rich military history as the setting for his first military mystery. The recently published Fruit of a Poisonous Tree gets its start in a dark Seattle back alley. It soon spreads to include real life settings of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, the office of the Judge Advocate General, and Ft. Lewis. Using the Pacific Northwest as a launching pad, Fruit of a Poisonous Tree, rockets its readers around the world as a female navy lawyer named Faydra Green searches for the truth behind the brutal murder of a U.S. Navy SEAL. Along the way Harris takes advantage of his own military experience as he creates local characters that spend their working lives in and around a number of Puget Sound military bases. Harris, a Seattle native, spent the last three years researching and writing the novel. Military enthusiasts will find his penchant for accuracy refreshing. "I purposely focused on creating characters aboard existing naval ships, working in real military bases, and citing historic judgments in military courts law," writes Harris. With its local connection Harris's novel is quickly gaining attention from the vast northwest military population as well as readers who enjoy a smart, believable suspense filled mystery.
