M. Louise Smith has been writing and working with clay since her chubby baby fingers became willing to respond to her active and fertile mind. She carried these loves to the University of Colorado where she studied communication and studio arts. She owned and operated her own interior design studio; managed an architectural firm; worked in marketing and advertising; and published numerous magazine articles, newsletters, and brochures before deciding to dedicate herself completely to writing and art.
She is an avid raku clay artist and regularly exhibits her work. In addition to the MIDDY BROWN JOURNALS, she has two other mainstream novels nearing completion.
She and her architect husband have traveled extensively, and now live in Loveland, Colorado where they continue their passion as "habitat junkies". They are refurbishing their current home, built in 1946, that boasts and art studio, a bona fide root cellar, and lots of space for entertaining their four adult children and their families.
