

Maureen was born in Niles, Michigan. She pursued her education in English and creative writing, first at Niles High School and later at Western Michigan University She earned an English Major/Creative Writing Emphasis from WMU and obtained primary school teaching certification as well as certification for teaching English/Creative Writing at all levels.
Fascinated with her mother's country of birth, Maureen came to Australia in 1981 to visit relatives. She met her husband, Peter, while there and they were married in 1983. She now resides in Wallington, on the Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria, with Peter, her two teenaged children, James and KatyAnne, two labradors, two cats, a cockatoo, (who she claims to be the reincarnation of her first cat) and a number of chooks.
Maureen has been publishing short stories and articles for many years and her novel, Shadows In The Mist is now available from Hard Shell Word Factory. Her new novel, Return Of The Gulls, is also available from Hard Shell Word Factory. She has a sequel novella to Return of the Gulls included in an anthology entitled Enchanted Holidays, coming from Hard Shell Word Factory in October. Maureen's novels are mystery/suspense with a bit of occult and romance thrown in. Maureen has taught creative writing at Writer's Online Workshops (Writer's Digest school), in and around the Bellarine Peninsula and also through her website Moonspinners Writer's Page. She currently has a creative writing teacher's manual under consideration for publication.
