Maryann Weber began gardening as a child in the beautiful blue water district of Michigan. Apartment living in Venice, Florida and later New York City pretty much confined her horticultural efforts to what would grow indoors in pots. A move to a newly built house in upstate New York, with only bare dirt and huge white pine trees in the yard, got her digging and planting again, and She's been happily doing so ever since. To learn how to get things right sometimes, she has become a Master Gardener and a Landscape Design Consultant with National Garden Clubs, Inc.
Maryann has been writing since childhood, mostly non-fiction. Earlier attempts at novels never quite came together. Then, a few years ago, her interests in gardening and storytelling converged. The result is Summerkill.
This mystery novel is set in the scenic Hudson Valley region of New York. Its heroine is an exemplar of the landscape and garden designers whose magical transformations of our environment Maryann so deeply appreciates.
Falling Backward brings back Summerkill heroine Val Wyckoff for another adventure.
