Lionel A. LaVergne was born in Louisiana and lived there until he joined the United States Air Force. After his honorable discharge he moved to Houston, Texas, and has lived there since 1959. He now resides in Spring, Texas, with his wife, Monna, and his dog, Poco, the smartest dog in the world.
