K.C. Miller, born in Spokane Washington, has resided most of his life in Alaska. Some of that time he lived north of Fairbanks, in what is most commonly referred to, as, "the bush." Also, he spent 25 years living in southwest Alaska-Bethel. Currently, he lives in Anchorage Alaska with his wife and young son.

He has a fondness for travel, hunting, fishing, hiking, and flying in small planes. His interests are writing, wood-working, restoring old vehicles, watercolor painting, listening to music and playing the drum set, watching collegiate and professional football, and learning about world history.
