Kathy’s mystery series, featuring police diver Hannah Sampson, debuted in 2003. Swimming with the Dead, the first in the series, was published by Signet/Penguin Putnam in October 2003.

The Caribbean setting and the focus on underwater crime investigation was a natural for Kathy. A certified diver, she and her husband have been sailing and scuba diving in the islands for 15 years. They live in the mountains of Colorado. Kathy has a BA in English and an MA in Rhetoric and Composition.

She is a member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and the Pike's Peak Writers.
