J. McKay has served three tours of duty in Vietnam with the US Army Special Forces and the 131st Aviation Company. After his military service, he spent ten years undercover with the Drug Enforcement Agency and Organized Crime Unit.

McKay makes his home in the Inland Empire of the Greater Los Angeles Area. He is currently working on the sequel to The Damned Never Die, And The Damned Shall Also Rise, plus a stand-alone novel, Conflict of Interest.
