JACQUELINE FIEDLER writes the Caroline Canfield mystery series set in the Midwest and featuring a wildlife artist with an eye for crime. The first title in the series, "Tiger's Palette," was nominated for the Agatha, the Anthony, and the Macavity for Best First Mystery. In her newest novel, "Sketches With Wolves," a blizzard strands Caroline at a Midwestern wolf preserve with Internet acquaintances more deadly than a pack of wolves.

Like her amateur detective protagonist, Jacqueline is a professional artist with a strong interest in animals and nature. While maintaining her independent graphic design and illustration studio in Chicago, she visits zoos and wildlife refuges to observe and sketch her subjects, as well as to figure out "where the next body will turn up." Her desire to write mysteries came as a direct result of being a longtime mystery reader herself.
