Ekaterine learned early on that travel can lead to adventure when her first trip to Greece, at age six, coincided with a coup d'etat. Journeys through the Swiss Alps, a job in a Danish nursery, and a freighter cruise to Brazil all provided their own adventures, but it was a honeymoon visit to the Greek island of Corfu that inspired her first novel, THE DIVIDED CHILD, a romantic mystery in which the island itself is a central character.

Ekaterine has received several awards for her writing, including the Karen Besecker Memorial Award for Novice Mystery Writers and Best of Show in the Authorlink! New Author Awards. She currently has short stories in two mystery anthologies: her story "Fatal Tears" appears in A DEADLY DOZEN (www.uglytown.com), and her story "The Body" appears in FIRE TO FLY (www.starpublications.com).

Ekaterine is currently working on her third novel, and when she's not writing, she keeps busy as a part-time multimedia programmer and full-time mom. She lives with her funny and talented husband and truly independent daughter in sunny California.
