David J. Weinberg was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Woodbridge, Connecticut. He is an Environmental Health Technologist, musician, film producer and guitar builder. He has been a semi-finalist in the annual Writer's Network competition for screenwriters, and in the top 10% of the Nichols Fellowship for screenwriters. His undergraduate degree is in environmental health technology, and he holds a Masters in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.

Mr. Weinberg is the son of a holocaust survivor. He is married with one child.
