After adding a lot of "formers" to his resume--newspaper reporter, freelance non-fiction writer, magazine editor, speechwriter for a governor, PR man for a mayor, ad copy writer, association executive, Air Force intelligence officer--Chester D. Campbell has finally achieved the title he really wanted: published fiction author. He first dabbled in the field while a student at the University of Tennessee (journalism) in 1947, then made another brief attempt in the sixties. After retirement, he started novel writing in earnest, selling Secret of the Scroll to Durban House in 2001. He has two daughters and two sons scattered about the East and Southeast, and eight grandchildren. He lives with his wife Sarah in Madison, TN, where he writes on his laptop while she watches TV.
