I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, so I am no stranger to plantation homes and Voodoo. I have been married to my very own "old soul" for over 28 years, and have one daughter, two cats, one dog, and one "grandpuppy" who's going through his teething stage. Needless to say, life in the Ledbetter household is NEVER dull!

Creating stories for and about women has always been a big part of my life. Even as a child, I was always wondering, "What would I do if that happened to me?" or "What Would Happen If?" As I grew older, my focus sometimes changed, but my determination to be a writer never faded. I am lucky in that I have had the good fortune to have my dreams fulfilled -- my first women's suspense novel was published in April, 2000.

All the characters I create have something in common: They are all normal, everyday women whose lives are thrown into chaos by a chance encounter or event. Sometimes their lives change for the better, sometimes for worse (life isn't always fair or fun). The other commonality they all share is that the outcome of their situation will always be determined by their own inner strength of character. In essence, if they don't already know how, they must learn (sometimes by trial and error) to depend on themselves. The results of their decisions can be downright humorous -- or traumatic, depending on their unique situations.

I constantly strive to weave together the lives of characters who are rich in experiences and personality traits we can all identify with. I want for you, the reader, to be able to experience the character's humor, joy, sorrow, romance, suspense, compassion and pain.

And, when the story comes to a close, my wish is for you to walk away refreshed, having been entertained for at least five minutes by traveling with one of my characters through the realm of imagination, where the possibilities are endless, and unusual situations can and do happen.
