Allen McClain started out in a local band before eventually moving on to songwriting. All the while being an avid reader of a variety of mysteries, he finally turned to the word processor and tried his hand at a full-length novel. He soon completed his first book and promptly shoved it away in a box (never to see the light of day). He then concentrated on short stories and human-interest articles in the hopes of building experience as well as a résumé. After what seemed like an eternity, his short stories started to be accepted with small press magazines and he even wrote a column for a short time for Contemporary Songwriter Magazine. Currently, he is a correspondent for The Chesapeake Post and continues writing novels. MURDER OVER THE PHONE is his first published mystery novel and first in a series of mysteries featuring Devon Porter, PI. Allen can also sign copies of the book and respond to readers via email at allenmcclain@writers.net.
